Running Fred isn't a very creative or well-executed entry into the chronology of running games, but it is fun to play. There are enough levels and special features to keep most fans of this genre of gaming happy, especially since they can be fairly challenging. The controls -- which can be frustrating at times -- only add to the challenge.
